DCM GREEN-LIME - Why apply lime?

If the soil is too acid, the following problems may occur:

  • reduced root activity

  • inhibition of nutrient uptake

  • insufficient turf density

  • poor growth and pale leaf colour

  • accelerated moss development in the lawn

  • reduced activity of soil life

What is the ideal acidity?

This depends on the type of plant:

ideal pH

lawn: play and sports lawns

6,0 - 7,0

lawn: ornamental and shady lawns

5,5 - 6,5

most ornamental plants (nutral pH)

6,0 - 6,5

lime-loving plants

6,5 - 7,5

acid-loving plants

4,5 - 5,5

Solution: liming with DCM GREEN-LIME

  • rapid correction of soil acidity thanks to a high neutralising value (NV 50)

  • activation of the existing soil life

  • improvement of the soil structure through the formation of clay–Ca++–humus complexes

  • stronger plant cells thanks to calcium Ca++

  • improved growth as a result of better nutrient uptake

  • better photosynthesis (leaf colour) thanks to 15% magnesium MgO

  • easy‑to‑spread, highly soluble granules

Extra benefits for lawns:

  • deep green grass colour

  • reduced moss development due to drying effect and improved grass growth

LIMING RECOMMENDATIONS

Annual maintenance liming (autumn - winter - spring)

lawns: play and sports turf

10 - 15 kg/ 100 m²

lawns: onamental and shady lawns

5 - 10 kg/100 m²

most ornamental plants

10 - 20 kg/ 100 m²

hedges

1,5 - 2 kg/ running meter

lime-loving plants

15 -25 kg/ 100 m²

acid-loving plants

do not lime

liming during lay out

lawn

10 - 20 kg/100 m²

ornamental gardens

15 - 25 kg/100 m²

Spread and incorporate (digging or milling) into the topsoil layer (25 cm)

Liming rates should be determined based on soil analysis (pH) and plant type
