DCM UNI-MIX A, specifically developed for head lettuce and leaf vegetables

DCM UNI-MIX A has been successfully used for more than 30 years because its formulation is particularly well suited to growing head lettuce and leaf vegetables. Trials were conducted with several growers, on both light and heavy soils and with various lettuce varieties, comparing DCM formulations with the growers’ standard practices. Based on the results of these trials, the formulation that achieved the best results was selected: DCM UNI-MIX A.

Below are some examples of practical trials:

Fertilisation trial, Proefstation voor de Groenteteelt, Sint-Katelijne-Waver

Trials were conducted both under practical growing conditions and at the Proefstation voor de Groenteteelt (Research Station for Vegetable Growing). In terms of both yield (kg/100 heads) and nitrate content in the lettuce heads at harvest, fertilisation with DCM UNI-MIX A performed better than standard chemical fertilisation.

Result of year-round use of DCM UNI-MIX A, crop after crop: “On average across five crops, DCM UNI-MIX A produced the heaviest lettuce heads and, more specifically, achieved the highest yield of all treatments in the summer and autumn crops. All this while maintaining good nitrate control.”

Practical trial with leaf endive grown under glass, Putte

In comparative trials with leaf endive, fertilisation with DCM UNI-MIX A achieved very good results in terms of yield (weight) and quality compared with the grower’s existing cultivation method, which combined chemical and organic fertilisation. Following these convincing results, the grower switched to DCM UNI-MIX A as a base fertiliser. This allows all the necessary nutrients to be applied easily in a single application.

Practical trial with Lollo bionda and head lettuce grown under glass, Lint

Good results were also achieved in Lollo bionda following a fertilisation recommendation with DCM UNI-MIX A. DCM UNI-MIX A performed particularly well in terms of root development, good crop establishment and more uniform growth throughout the greenhouse.
