Adding the soil improver DCM VIVISOL® MINIGRAN® and DCM COPRON helps to obtain a rich and active soil life and ensures optimal health of the seedbed and the young seedlings. The trial below, carried out with Carpinus hornbeams grown from seed, shows that the high organic matter content enriches the soil with humus and gives it a crumbly structure. This leads to better emergence of the germinating Carpinus seedlings. DCM VIVISOL® MINIGRAN® also increases soil fertility, and the added bacteria Bacillus sp. make the nutrients that are present in the soil (including phosphorus) more readily available. As a result, the plant roots develop better, the young seedlings grow more easily and remain healthy.
Trial: DCM VIVISOL® MINIGRAN® and DCM COPRON applied to Carpinus seedbeds
Soil improver DCM VIVISOL® MINIGRAN® and DCM COPRON were applied on a plot of Boomkwekerijen De Rutven in Wernhout (NL) before sowing Carpinus in spring. This resulted in taller, bushier plants with longer roots.
