DCM MIX 2 - The ideal basic fertiliser for ornamental plants

Ornamental plants require a mild fertiliser with a lot of phosphorus and a lot of potassium. The best known and most widely used fertiliser in ornamental plant cultivation is DCM MIX 2 MINIGRAN®. This high-potassium formula (NPK 7-6-12 + 4 MgO) serves as a full basic fertiliser and has a mild action, which can be partly attributed to the many raw materials that it contains.

This wide range of raw materials ensures that the nutrition is released over a period of 75 to 100 days. It also stimulates soil life, which has to convert the organic raw materials into plant-available nutrients.

DCM MIX 2 is considered as the "ornamental cultivation fertiliser" of choice, both for planting and supplemental fertilization in greenhouse and outdoor crops. This fertiliser is not only available in traditional pellet-form, but also in MINIGRAN®, DCM’s easy-to-use microgranules.

Why use DCM MIX 2 MINIGRAN® for indoor crops?

Many cut flowers and shrubs are grown indoors; either to advance specific varieties or to produce consistent quality all year round. Chrysanthemum, Lisianthus, peony, amaryllis and sweet William for example, are common crops that are grown under glass.

Since these indoor crops have a completely different climate compared to outdoor crops, fertilisers can behave differently. Factors such as temperature and humidity are decisive and require a precise understanding of the release pattern of a fertiliser.

Especially for indoor crops, DCM has a wide range of (mineral) organic fertilizers that meet the nutritional needs of these crops. By combining several raw materials in one single formula, a constant nutrient release over a longer period of time is achieved. The mineral component provides a quick start; the combination of different organic raw materials ensures a long-lasting effect, which is usually about 75 - 100 days.

In addition to the traditional pellets, this fertiliser is also available in MINIGRAN®, DCM's easy-to-use organic microgranules.

DCM MIX 3 MINIGRAN®

When a nitrogen-rich formula is desired, DCM MIX 3 MINIGRAN® is often chosen for indoor crops. Thanks to its NPK formulation – NPK 9-3-6 + 3 MgO – with more focus on nitrogen, DCM MIX 3 generally ensures a faster start and more growth in height. Because of its balanced composition of raw materials and its high organic matter content, DCM MIX 3 also ensures high efficiency of nutrients and prevents them from leaching.
