Results with PMV®-01?

Ten years of scientific research and six years of experience in commercial cultivation, with more than 10,000 ha treated, have demonstrated that PMV®-01 is a reliable solution against damage caused by PepMV in a wide range of tomato types, from the smallest specialty tomatoes to large beef tomatoes, in both lit and unlit crops, across different substrate and soil types and under various climatic conditions. With the PMV®-01 vaccination strategy, the typical PepMV fruit symptoms are not observed. In addition, the 4 to 12% production losses caused by aggressive PepMV infection are significantly reduced.

The effectiveness has been shown in a series of official GEP trials. In these trials, crops with and without PMV®-01 vaccination were inoculated with an aggressive PepMV isolate three weeks after the vaccination date. The PMV®-01 vaccinated crops showed no loss of quality and production, whereas the non-vaccinated crops showed average production losses ranging from 7 to 11%.

In addition to official trials, data from several commercial growers were also compared. The example below shows that one grower consistently achieves higher yields in specialty tomatoes following vaccination with PMV®-01 vaccination. Before the crop in question was vaccinated, it was affected by spontaneous, aggressive PepMV infections. Thanks to PMV®-01 vaccination, the plants were more resilient, allowing this increased vigour to ultimately translate into higher yields.

Commercial data from a tomato grower who consistently achieves higher yields in specialty tomatoes following vaccination with PMV®-01. Before using the vaccine, the crop was affected by a spontaneous PepMV infection. With the PMV®-01 vaccine, healthy plants show a more resilient growth pattern, resulting in higher yields.
