The DCM Tomato Concept, the ideal strategy for a vital plant

After several years of intensive trials, DCM has developed the DCM Tomato Concept. With this concept, DCM offers a range of products that act on different growth stages of the tomato plant. The products may have vegetative or generative effects and also include a biological crop protection product, all with the aim of creating a vital, healthy plant. Many years of experience with tomato growers have enabled the development of a range of effective products. In addition, the Biorationals team offers tailored support to growers, based on technical expertise, extensive practical experience and research into the optimal performance of the developed products.

PMV®-01

Immediately after planting

PMV-01® is a vaccination strategy that has been used in greenhouse tomato cultivation glass since 2011 to provide protection against the highly infectious Pepino mosaic virus (PepMV). This vaccination strategy makes it possible to prevent the serious quality and yield losses caused by PepMV in a sustainable and biological way.

PMV-01® is a biological crop protection product and the result of 10 years of scientific research in, among others, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain. This research showed that the best protection against PepMV was achieved with a vaccination strategy based on a unique, mild and stable Chilean PepMV isolate. This isolate rapidly colonises the plants and subsequently provides optimal protection against PepMV damage. Based on these insights, PMV-01® was developed. The product itself is produced using a certified production process with strict quality controls.

DCM VITACT® F

Planting on the growing slab

DCM VITACT® F consists of a unique combination of several Bacillus spp. and lignosulfonates. The various Bacillus isolates colonise the root environment, stimulate the development of fine root hairs and thereby enhance nutrient uptake. The improved

availability of nutrients results in faster and more efficient root establishment, stronger plants, and improved overall growth.

DCM VITACT® F also contains lignosulfonates, complex organic carbon chains. These lignosulfonates increase nutrient availability to the roots and thus stimulate root formation.

Thanks to the combined action of Bacillus spp. and lignosulfonates, DCM VITACT® F ensures an optimal start after planting.

DCM IMPULS TD®

Late spring or before a stressful period

DCM IMPULS TD® is a biostimulant based on several Trichoderma spp. isolates, a soil fungus that lives in the root environment. These Trichoderma isolates primarily feed on root exudates and organic matter. By applying multiple Trichoderma isolates, DCM IMPULS TD® remains effective under different (climate) conditions.

DCM IMPULS TD® improves nutrient uptake, resulting in better root development and, consequently, improved above-ground plant growth. The application of DCM IMPULS TD® results in increased plant resilience: the plant is more resistant to various forms of abiotic stress, including heat and suboptimal watering. In addition, the introduction of Trichoderma into the rhizosphere enhances biodiversity and stimulates soil biological activity.

DCM IMPULS TD® is particularly useful when a vegetative boost is required before a stressful period, for example when plants are heavily loaded with fruit or during the summer months.
