The DCM Tomato Concept, a well-considered strategy for a vigorous crop

Following several years of intensive trials, DCM developed the DCM Tomato Concept. With this concept, DCM offers a range of products that act at different growth stages of the tomato plant. These products can support both vegetative and generative development and also include a biological crop protection product, all with one common goal: creating a vigorous crop. Many years of experience with tomato growers have enabled the development of a range of effective products. In addition, the Biorationals team provides growers with tailored advice based on technical expertise, extensive experience and research into the optimal performance of the developed products.

PMV®-01

Immediately after planting

PMV-01® is a vaccination strategy that has been used in greenhouse tomato production since 2011 to protect crops against the highly infectious Pepino mosaic virus (PepMV). This vaccination strategy enables growers to prevent the significant yield and quality losses caused by PepMV in a targeted and biological way.

PMV-01® is a biological crop protection product and the result of ten years of scientific research conducted in countries including Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain. This research showed that strong protection against PepMV could be achieved through a vaccination strategy based on a specific, mild and stable Chilean PepMV isolate. This isolate rapidly colonises the plants and subsequently provides effection protection against PepMV damage. Based on this knowledge, PMV-01® was developed. The product is manufactured using a production process that includes internal quality controls at every stage.

DCM VITACT® F

Plants on growing slabs

DCM VITACT® F consists of a specific combination of several Bacillus spp. and lignosulfonates. The various Bacillus isolates colonise the root zone, support the development of fine root hairs and thereby enhance nutrient uptake. The supply of these nutrients supports root development and can contribute to more uniform rooting and healthy plant growth.

DCM VITACT® F also contains lignosulfonates, complex carbon chains of natural origin. These lignosulfonates increase nutrient availability to the roots and stimulate root formation.

By combining Bacillus spp. and lignosulfonates, DCM VITACT® F supports smooth crop development from planting onwards.

DCM IMPULS TD®

Late spring or before a stressful period

DCM IMPULS TD® is a biostimulant based on several Trichoderma spp. isolates, a soil fungus that lives in the root environment. These Trichoderma isolates mainly feed on root exudates and organic matter. By combining multiple Trichoderma isolates, DCM IMPULS TD® performs effectively under a wide range of growing and climatic conditions.

DCM IMPULS TD® supports root system development, nutrient uptake and healthy above-ground plant growth. In addition, the application of DCM IMPULS TD® can contribute to crop resilience: and tolerance to certain forms of abiotic stress, such as heat and suboptimal irrigation. The presence of Trichoderma in the rhizosphere also contributes to a biologically active soil environment.

DCM IMPULS TD® is an interesting solution when you are looking to support the vegetative development of your crop before a period of stress, for example when plants are carrying a heavy fruit load or during the summer months.
