TURFORTE® IRON has been specifically developed for use on professional sports fields and golf courses, where quality and performance are key. This quickly absorbable liquid fertiliser contains a powerful mix of iron and nitrogen that promotes even grass growth and a deep green colour with low risk of burning. How does TURFORTE® IRON work?
The power of TURFORTE® IRON lies in its rapidly absorbable nutrients that give the grass an active green boost. Chelates are compounds in which a metal ion is surrounded by an organic claw that holds it firmly in place, ensuring that the iron remains easily soluble and available to the plant. In addition to DTPA, which is easily absorbed at higher soil pH levels, TURFORTE® IRON mainly contains plant-specific iron citrate. Compared to traditional chelates, iron citrate is an organic iron compound with smaller dimensions. It is neutrally charged so that it does not repel the negatively charged outer cell layer of the grass, is easily transportable and binds less strongly with iron. This results in a good and fast uptake, requiring minimal effort from the grass and therefore a limited amount of energy. The combination of DTPA chelate and citrate also means that a lower EC value can be achieved for the same amount of iron, resulting in a very low risk of burning.
The iron that washes off the grass is not wasted but is actually used in the soil. Thanks to the DTPA chelating agent, it remains in solution and can be slowly absorbed by the roots. Because this chelating agent remains stable at a soil pH value between 4 and 7, TURFORTE® IRON is ideally suited for use on sandy sports fields.
In addition to the combination of iron chelate and iron citrate, TURFORTE® IRON is also a source of nitrogen. Thanks to its sophisticated formula, all elements are synergistically absorbed by the grass plants, stimulating fast and balanced growth.
