DCM Xtra-MIX® 1, a fertiliser with a controlled, extra long-lasting action

DCM Xtra-MIX® 1 (NPK 16-3-8) is a unique fertiliser that contains a combination of different raw materials, both of organic and mineral origin. As a result, plants are continuously and evenly nourished right from the start over a period of 4 to 5 months.

Fast-acting nitrogen (ammonium + urea) stimulates growth immediately after spreading.
Thanks to the diversity of organic nutrients, each with a specific NPK and release pattern, plants are continuously and evenly nourished over a period of 75 to 100 days.
Also contains long-acting mineral nitrogen based on methylene urea (urea formaldehyde). The urea formaldehyde molecule is a complex chain that is transformed by soil life into plant-absorbable nutrients. This extends the duration of action to 120 - 150 days.

DCM Xtra-MIX® 1 is a fertiliser produced with MINIGRAN^® TECHNOLOGY, a unique micro-granulation process. In contrast to blends (fertiliser mixtures), MINIGRAN^® granules have a homogenous composition and contain all the nutrients in the same proportions. Thanks to their small size, these granules are also suitable for row and precision fertilization. As a result, nutrients end up where the plant needs them; so a lower dose per hectare can be applied.

Less leaching

Both the release of nutrients from organic raw materials and the transformation of urea formaldehyde depend on the activity of soil life. This activity is influenced not only by temperature, but also by pH and moisture levels. Since plant growth also depends on these natural factors, the release of the nutrients contained in DCM Xtra-MIX® 1 is tailored to the growth and needs of the plants. This improves the efficiency of the fertiliser and reduces the risk of leaching.

Stimulates soil life

Both the organic nutrients and methylene urea need to be transformed by soil life into plant-available forms. DCM Xtra-MIX® 1 therefore stimulates the development of a varied and active soil life. It has been scientifically proven that a varied and active soil life is the best guarantee of a better soil balance and improved resistance to disease. In these conditions, roots will develop better and plants will grow better.

One fertilization per growing season

Practical experience shows that it is not always desirable to fertilize certain crops several times, or that some growers prefer not to do so at all. Thanks to the extra long-lasting, controlled action of DCM Xtra-MIX® 1, one fertilization per growing season is generally sufficient for most crops. This means that the cost for additional fertilization (labour + time + machine costs) are avoided, as is the risk of pathogens being transmitted by the machines.
