Yield increase in organic onion cultivation with DCM ECOR® 3

DCM’s organic fertilisers only contain high-quality raw materials of plant and animal origin, suitable for use in organic agriculture. Thanks to the unique MINIGRAN^® Technology, the fertiliser granules are distributed evenly and efficiently. DCM ECOR® 3 with MINIGRAN^® Technology has a high organic nitrogen content. Trial: DCM ECOR® 3 applied in the cultivation of organic onions

‘Nieuw Bonaventura’, a biodynamic arable farm in ’s-Gravendeel (the Netherlands) specializes in growing organic chicory and onions. For both crops, Nieuw Bonaventure uses DCM organic fertilisers with b>MINIGRAN^® Technology. For onion cultivation, DCM ECOR® 3 was applied in the row, in combination with hoeing, in one single pass. This allowed to save labour, time and money and also turned out to be better for the soil and crops. In the end, an additional yield of 7.8 tons/ha (+ 27%) was measured as well as a financial gain.

Dosage:	Pre-seeding of (biological) lawn clover + 25 tons (bio) goat manure (autumn) During cultivation: watered 6x and fertilized 6x (row fertilization with hoeing). First application of DCM ECOR® 3 (NK 12-3): 4 weeks after sowing (dose according to soil analysis, variety and needs of the crop at that time)
