Mark Valentijn’s company Maatschap Valentijn in Sint-Willebrord (Rucphen) has experienced tremendous growth. From way back, Mark’s grandfather had been growing strawberries in greenhouses. Over the years, the company has expanded to reach its current acreage of over 10 hectares.

Why does Mark Valentijn choose DCM?

Mark talks about his experiences with DCM MICRO-MIX YELLOW and DCM VIVISOL® MINIGRAN®. ‘Four years ago, we carried out trials with DCM MICRO-MIX YELLOW and DCM VIVISOL® MINIGRAN® on tray plants. We compared DCM’s organic trace element mix with my usual mix of trace elements contained in the substrate. Visually, the plants showed no differences, but the measurements did show a difference. I particularly liked the iron and manganese ratio in my strawberry and blackberry plants. Moreover, I consider the organic origin of the DCM products as an important added value.

Mark Valentijn likes using DCM products. Why is that?

‘Since I have been using DCM VIVISOL® MINIGRAN®, I’ve noticed that the roots of my tray plants are whiter. That’s why I also use the combination of DCM VIVISOL® MINIGRAN® and DCM MICRO-MIX YELLOW for my blackberry plants. Once again, I’m convinced of the added value offered by this combination.’
