Sustainability as a calculation
With Philippe Mallaerts, advisor at Brabantse Golf, as his mentor, Dimitri is well aware of the need for a more sustainable approach. Not because it's trendy, but because it pays off: every decision should help reduce water consumption, lighten the workload or improve playing quality. In addition to investing in efficient machinery and smart maintenance, he also takes a critical look at the use of crop protection products and soil improvers.
Gaining experience with sustainable alternatives
New this year is the use of DCM Intro 2.0, an organic wetting agent that works differently from traditional, synthetic variants. Unlike chemicals that persist for a long time, Intro 2.0 is biodegradable and therefore fits perfectly into an environmentally conscious maintenance strategy. This requires more observation and experience from the greenkeeper, but also provides valuable insights into working with organic solutions.
